My simple 3 step process:

  1. Share your idea - Use the contact form to tell me what you have in mind — the purpose, style, size, wood type, or any inspiration you want to include.

  2. I create an initial design - I draft a sketch or prototype model and send it to you so you can see exactly what the final piece will look like

  3. You approve, and I bring it to life - Once you're happy with the design, I craft your custom piece with care and attention to detail

Below are some examples of what can be created - the objects shown here are actual photographs of designs created by the Tartan Viking.

These are not the only items I can make for you.  The costs can vary from only a few Euros for a small piece, up to the limits of your imagination (and the limits of my tools and the materials used). Whether it’s a gift, a memorial, or something just for you — I’ll help shape your idea into a lasting piece.

I strive to make my products from sustainable or recycled materials, FSC plywood, reclaimed Oak, upcycled furniture can all provide sources. If you have an old treasured piece of wood it is feasible for me to make that into your dream. Please get in touch via the contact form to discuss your requirements.

About

The Tartan Viking - it all begins with an idea…

I’m Andrew Forrester, Originally from Scotland with a little Viking heritage, and now living in Limburg, Netherlands. I turned my skills as an engineer into hand-crafting unique items from sustainable wood, with personalisation, artistic designs and logos expertly finished using modern technology.

I started out with a very small run of cufflinks made from 100 year-old French Oak recovered from a local memorial that was being refurbished. The cufflinks were presented to the benefactors of the monument.

I also commit a lot of my time to a local charity which is very dear to me.

The Mackenzie’s Dreamland Foundation is a small but important charity, dedicated to the support of children affected by cancer. They provide strength and encouragement to the kids, their parents and families during and after their treatment.

Amongst other things, they provide dream boxes, personalized wooden boxes (hand made by me) tailored to the child and filled with nice mementoes designed to promote calm and happy thoughts during a very dark time. I give my time free of charge to the Mackenzie’s Dreamland, and the materials are donated from local suppliers.
